Zambient was born by accident (like many good things) - out of lockdown boredom.
A desire to get back into making stuff – and as a means to bring some bright bold colour into our home.

We’ve been a massive fan of Ankara fabrics for decades: The bold graphics, the colour combinations & quirky icons & patterns - what’s not to love?

Fast forward to 2020, combining Ankara fabric with some old Polartec fleece we had lying around to make the first Zambient blanket. A few more were made for our home, and many for friends, and we’ve grown from there…”
Now the blankets are made with cosy sherpa fleece and we’ve developed a 100% natural fibre blanket using wool puffa insulation - made in the UK from British wool.

I’m Heather. I’ve worked as a performance apparel designer for almost 20 years, with a background in printed textile design – so weirdly (or maybe not so much) Zambient is a product of both of these.
